Fixed Braces for Kids at Treeline Dental Care

Helping growing smiles stay healthy and confident

Fixed braces are one of the most trusted ways to straighten teeth in kids. They’re designed to gently guide teeth into the right position as your child grows, helping to correct crowding, gaps, or bite issues before they become more serious.

Today’s braces are much smaller and more comfortable than they used to be and with the right support, most kids get used to them quickly. Whether it’s for health, function, or confidence, braces can make a lasting difference in your child’s smile.

Why Do Kids Need Braces?

  • Their teeth are overcrowded or growing out of place
  • There are gaps between their teeth
  • Their bite isn’t lining up properly
  • A dentist has spotted early signs of jaw or alignment problems

Starting treatment at the right time can help avoid bigger issues later. And for many kids, braces are a normal part of growing up, with great results.

Benefits of Fixed Braces for Kids

  • Helps straighten teeth as they develop
  • Supports better chewing, speech, and bite alignment
  • Reduces the risk of long-term dental issues
  • Builds confidence during important social years
  • Kids can even customise them with coloured bands if they like

How Much Do Fixed Braces Cost?

Kids may qualify for NHS braces if their case meets the national criteria. For those who don’t, or for families wanting more choice over materials and appointment flexibility, private options are available too.

What to Expect During the Braces Journey

We’ll begin with a relaxed, friendly orthodontic assessment to check how your child’s teeth and jaws are developing. If braces are recommended, we’ll explain the plan clearly to both you and your child.
Once the braces are fitted, we’ll see your child every few weeks to make small adjustments and track their progress. Treatment usually lasts between 12 to 24 months, depending on how things develop.

We’ll also guide your child on how to look after their braces properly, keeping everything clean, comfortable, and on track.

What Can Kids’ Braces Help Fix?

Fixed braces can correct a wide range of dental problems while your child’s teeth and jaws are still developing. These include:

  • Crowded teeth – When there isn’t enough room and teeth overlap or twist as they come in.
  • Gaps between teeth – Braces gently close spaces to help with function and appearance.
  • Overbite – If the top teeth stick out too far, braces can guide them back into line.
  • Underbite – When lower teeth sit in front of upper ones, braces can shift them into balance.
  • Crossbite – Helps fix bite issues where teeth don’t meet correctly side to side.
  • Open bite – Brings front teeth together if they don’t touch when the mouth is closed.

The earlier we spot these issues, the easier they are to treat effectively.
